Try not to waste your time, and that of a web designer by failing to prepare. Take some time to plan out what you want, including what pages, text, videos, images and information you want to deliver via your website.
Decide what you're willing to spend. Every project must have a maximum budget, so consider what you're willing to spend compared to what you want from your website
Start looking through online portfolios from prospective web design companies in Edmonton. If you like what you see, contact them for a quote. You may want to start by going to Google.com and searching for "edmonton web design company".
Start preparing your website information. If you're web designer will need to build a photo gallery, you're going to have to provide photos. If you want an online quote request form on your website, decide what fields (name, company, email, phone, city, etc) you need on that form. If you have a particular font or color you want to use, make a note for your web designer. If you're not quite sure exactly what you want on your website, you can still prepare by researching other websites from companies in your industry - just start at Google.com.
Think about when your website is finished and officially launched. Now what? Your phone won't start ringing immediately. You have to let your existing and prospective customers know it exists. Think about how you are going to market and advertise your website. Will you do a direct-mail campaign informing your customers of your new website? Will you send a mass-email to everyone you know? Will you inform them all by word of mouth? Will you setup a Google AdWords Campaign or pay-per-click advertising through Facebook? If you fail to plan, plan to fail.
